We believe that it’s ever more important to care about our children’s future and the future of our planet and consider our environmental impact when choosing to buy toys for our kids.
EKOTOIZ has been inspired by artisans and designers who used their knowledge, creativity, and experience to bring you quality, all-natural rubber toy collection so that ethical and eco-conscious mums can take comfort in knowing that their purchase have helped stop plastic waste by buying natural rubber toys and being part of the solution!
We deeply care about the planet and it’s dwindling resources and so we ethically source our raw materials from small rubber farmers in Sri Lankan.
We source our rubber material from small rubber farmers by tapping the milky latex extracted from the bark of the Hevea rubber tree in Sri Lanka…Which then becomes the primary source of natural rubber foam, which is renewable and non-toxic. Skilled artisans in our company-managed Fairtrade factory in Sri Lanka use this foam to make our safe and beautiful all-natural kids' rubber toys.
The natural rubber foam we source provides us with the perfect canvas to create our works of art, and as craftsmen, we believe that our job here is to accentuate that beauty and restore its new purpose. We love what we do; we love to design and build toys using sustainable methods and materials. We do it all by hand, one toy at a time, in our company-run Fairtrade factory in Sri Lanka.
For us, EKOTOIZ is more than just a business. It’s a way of life. A passion forged out of sheer determination for sustainability. We are particularly proud of the traditional ways in which our toys are crafted and finished. Our products are entirely hand fabricated using traditional moulding techniques, hand-painting, treating, and finishing with scars and blemishes prominently portraying the only embellishments that forms the hallmark of our products.
No two pieces are the same at EKOTOIZ. That’s the true beauty of genuine handcrafted products. Here at EKOTOIZ, we don’t use cookie cutters in crafting our products. Not that we have anything against those who use a cookie cutter approach to mass-produce their products in large factories under the disguise of handmade.
Our approach to toys is very different to most commercial manufactures in that we create authentic, eco-friendly products, sustainably made using non-toxic biodegradable natural rubber materials. While most commercial toy manufacturers cut away the imperfections in the toys they produce. On the contrary, at EKOTOIZ we consider these imperfections as hallmarks that lend character and beauty to our products. That’s why, every one of our toys is one-of-a-kind creations in form and design.
